Northeast Region


For Monday, April 23, 2018’s Northeast Test:

Be able to label the 11 Northeast states on a blank map.

Extra Points: Be able to label the Capital of each Northeast state

Landforms: valleys, hills, low mountains, oceans, waterfalls

Climate: winters are long, cold with a lot of snowstorms; summers are warm but short

Products and Natural Resources: forests, maple syrup, granite, marble, coal, hydro-electric plants (using water to make electricity), iron, glass, steel, blueberries, cranberries, potatoes, dairy products, fish, lobster, shellfish

Landmarks: Washington, D.C. (White House, Capitol Building, Supreme Court, Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument); Philadelphia (Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross’s home, Ben Franklin’s Post Office, Hershey Chocolate Factory); New York (Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, World Trade Center and memorial, Niagara Falls)

Culture: sports (basketball and volleyball) inventions, Amish (religion does not permit use of electricity, cars, telephones, and other “modern” items); Dairy products and seafood are a big part of the culture; baked beans, potato chips, and buffalo wings were invented in the Northeast.

Student Passwords

Whenever possible, students' usernames and passwords consist of their Student ID number for the username, and the password is made up as follows: First initial Capitalized, last initial lowercase, two digit birthday month, two digit birthday year, 01 for boys or 02 for girls.

Example Password for Kerrie Yax born December 1970 would be: Ky127002

(K is capital, y is lowercase, 12 for December, 70 for 1970, 02 for girl.)
